This month of April was full of great news in the field of up cycling plastics thanks to enzymes, recovering rare materials thanks to urban mining, speeding up materials science thanks to machine learning, reducing air pollution in congested cities thanks to a variety of innovative solutions (from partnering air and land to redesigning diesel engines), using less materials in new equipment thanks to new design & big data... and even producing sneakers out of recycled chewing gums!
